About Rockman

Seth Rockman is a licensed Social Worker and has been working with at-risk youth and families since 1995. He has worked in inner-city high schools, suspension centers, intermediate schools, after-school programs, transitional residences, residential facilities and emergency shelters and has provided individual counseling, group counseling, crisis management and case management services to youth ranging from age 6 months to 21 years old. He has supported and empowered every demographic.  Seth has served as the Program Director for government funded inner-city adolescent drop-out prevention programs and has worked with post-incarcerated youth transitioning back into the community. He has supervised counselors, developed therapeutic mentoring programs and provided in-home supportive services to families who were trying to maintain their children in their homes and avoid out of home placement for their emotionally disturbed children.

Over his career, Seth has facilitated panel discussions on best practices and has designed numerous behavior management strategies for the agencies he’s worked for.  He’s created classroom support systems for teachers, built after-school programs from the ground up and written and facilitated workshops for colleagues, parents and educators.  He has been trained in models used with survivors and perpetrators of domestic violence and has integrated his trainings into his daily work with aggressive youth and turbulent families. He’s also a published author, writing various pieces about the driving forces of youth, and strategies for maximizing influence with children and students.

Seth holds a B.S. and M.S.W. from Rutgers University and is currently a school social worker at a large public high school in Brooklyn, New York.
